If the internet drops
Servio keeps working through short drops and re-syncs when the line returns. We have not published a guaranteed offline window, and we will not invent one.
A flaky pub Wi-Fi for a few minutes is a different problem from a street cabinet outage that lasts an hour. Ask every POS vendor what happens in both cases. Treat a vague answer as an answer.
Short drops
Servio keeps taking orders through brief connection losses and re-syncs automatically when the line returns. That covers a few minutes of a bad connection. It does not mean the till is a standalone box that can run a bank holiday weekend with no network. For uptime and backups, see the security page.
Longer outages
A phone hotspot will run a browser-based till. That is one of the few genuine advantages of not having a terminal wired to the wall. Switch the tablet onto the hotspot, reload the till, and carry on. Check app.servio.uk/status first: if we have an incident open, we already know, and you should use the workaround rather than spend the rush debugging.
The one thing not to do
Do not reinstall the app, clear site data, or wipe the browser profile while you are offline. That is the one action that can lose unsynced work. Leave the tab open. When the line or hotspot returns, let it re-sync, then confirm the last few tickets against what the pass already cooked.
We cannot repair your broadband. We will tell you quickly if the failure is on our side or on yours. Email support@servio.uk if tickets or payments do not catch up after the line returns.
Common questions
What happens if my internet drops?
Servio keeps working through brief connection drops and re-syncs when the line returns. That covers a few minutes of a flaky connection, not a long outage. For a longer drop, a phone hotspot will run a browser-based till. Do not clear browser data while offline.
Do you publish an offline SLA?
No. We have not published a guaranteed offline window, and we will not invent one.
How do I know if Servio itself is down?
Check app.servio.uk/status. If an incident is open, we already know and are working on it.
