Import your menu from a file or URL

Start from your existing menu instead of a blank page. Import creates a draft for you to check against the source before publishing; completeness and food information still need your review.

Menu import is included on every plan. Upload a supported file, image or PDF, paste text or use a menu URL to create a draft. Review the source against the draft for missing items, categories, prices, modifiers and operator-verified allergen information before publishing.

What to upload

Start with a clear export or source menu that contains current prices and options. Supported files, images, PDFs, pasted text and menu URLs can provide a starting point; difficult layouts or incomplete sources may need more corrections. See how to migrate a restaurant menu.

Keep operator-verified allergen information with the relevant items and review ingredient or modifier changes. For food prepacked for direct sale, Natasha’s Law requires a full ingredient list with allergens emphasised. Menu notes alone do not fulfil those labelling duties.

What to check before you publish

Compare every category and item with the source. Check prices, required and optional modifiers, availability and any station assignments. Then place representative orders and check the kitchen tickets. Use the kitchen tickets article if the expected ticket is missing.

Preview the guest menu on a phone. Check readable item names, prices and choices, then confirm that the selected modifiers appear correctly on an order and kitchen ticket.

If the import looks wrong

Keep an incomplete draft unpublished. Email support@servio.uk with the source and the specific missing or incorrect item. Setup help is included; Growth and Enterprise include hands-on migration help and founding pilot venues receive guided setup.

Can I import from my old POS export?

What if my menu is only a photo?

A clear photograph can be a starting point. Check the draft for omitted items, misread prices and missing options, and correct anything the source could not supply. A clearer export or PDF may reduce review work.
